February Favourites

Saturday 28 February 2015

Wow February is such a short month I can’t believe that it’s March tomorrow, I’ve almost completed my first year of Sixth form and that’s crazy my exams are going to be so soon, anyways since it’s the end of February It’s time for my monthly favourites.

So my first favourite has been the Simple Kind To Skin Illuminating Cream, I’ve had this since the end of January I think and I absolutely love this product! I use it in the morning before putting my foundation on and I love the effect it leaves on the skin, since it’s an illuminating cream it brightens the skin up leaving you looking more radiant and awake. The cream itself has a shimmer in it that adds a natural highlight to your skin. I find that after I’ve done my make up my cheek bones have a nice shine to them and under my brow bone making it look like I’ve applied a highlighter even if I haven’t and since it dries quickly I find I don’t have to wait around before putting my foundation on meaning I can do it straight away.

Another beauty favourite of mine is the Collection Long Lasting concealer, everyone raves on about this product and I can see why, this is the best concealer I’ve tried and I’ve tried a couple just some cheap drugstore ones but this one is by far my favourite, I find that it covers my dark circles under my eyes easily and with a little powder on top lasts all day at college so from 7am till about half 6pm it doesn’t crease under my eyes either and it’s definitely a cheap product.

My final beauty related product is the Real Techniques buffing brush, I love this brush I use it to apply my foundation and I find that it just applies it so well to the skin and gives it a flawless look. This is definitely my favourite brush for applying foundation.

My next favourite is an old TV show which is Malcolm In The Middle, this program came out in the 2000’s and I remember I used to watch it as a kid
And I found it on Netflix so I started to watch it and last week I finished watching all 7 seasons of it and I realised just how good of a program it actually is.

My final favourite of the month is Fall Out Boys new album- American Beauty/ American Psycho. This has got to be my favourite album at the moment; at first I wasn’t that keen on the album due to it leaning more towards the pop side of things and less of the Fall Out Boy sound but after listening to the album a numerous amount of times I’ve finally got used to the sound and I absolutely love it especially the songs, Immortals, Uma Thurman and The Kids Aren’t Alright.

And that is all of my Favourites for February, what have been some of your favourites from this month?

My Haircare Products

Saturday 21 February 2015

So today I thought I’d share some of the products I use on my hair to keep it in good condition including shampoos and conditioners and other items I use on a daily/ weekly basis.

So I’m going to start with Shampoo’s and conditioners I use. As I wash my hair 3-4 times a week and I’m always changing up my shampoos and conditioners so here’s the ones I use.

One of the ones I’ve been using for a long time now is the VO5- Give Me Moisture shampoo and conditioner, which I used to love a lot, It’s not one of my favourites now but I still find that it leaves my hair soft and it does help with my hair after I’ve used a lot of heat on it.

Another shampoo and conditioner I have been using for a while now is the Tresemmé – split end remedy and I love this stuff I don’t think it did much when it came to helping my hair repair the split ends but It did just keep my hair feeling more revived.

A recently new shampoo and conditioner I have tried out is the Garnier- ultimate blends sleek restorer. This has got to by my favourite shampoo and conditioner I have used. It does what it says it makes your hair very soft and sleek as well is stopping your hair from being frizzy it takes that away and I have naturally curly/ wavy hair and this helps a lot making my hair more manageable and nicer looking when it’s natural.

Another new shampoo and conditioner I have tried is the Aussie Mega instant I originally found this in B&M’s but I really love it like the Garnier one I find it makes my hair very soft and if I use the Aussie 3 minute miracle constructer I find this leaves my hair in such a nice condition. The 3 minute miracle constructer you use by putting some on your hair like you would with shampoo and conditioner and leave it on for 3 minutes before washing your hair it’s a miracle if you have dry hair or use a lot of heat on your hair.

Another favourite shampoo and conditioner of mine is the Herbal Essence- smooth & soft. I love this set it smells amazing and again I love shampoos and conditioners that just make your hair feel soft and smooth especially with the amount of heat I use on my hair.

As for dry shampoos I use the Batiste ones and I own two of these one is floral and flirty whilst the other is fruity + cheeky cherry, Batiste are my favourite for dry shampoos I feel like they just work wonders and are live savers. How many times I’ve woke up in the morning to see my hair flat and a little bit greasy so I just spray some over and scrunch it in and shake my hair out and it just instantly gives it a nice amount of volume whilst leaving no white marks ( I have brown hair and it can be a problem with dry shampoos) and it doesn’t leave your hair feeling horrible it just makes it feeling pretty much normal.

So that’s all the shampoos and conditioners I use on a weekly basis so moving onto styling before straightening my hair I use the Lee Stafford Heat protection spray and I don’t really have much of an opinion on heat protectants I just find that they don’t do much but I do really like the smell of this and when spraying it dries very quickly so you can straighten your hair.

To keep my hair straight all day I use the Schwarzkopf got 2 b 2 sexy big volume hair spray and I love this hair spray It’s the best one I’ve tried and I think I’ve had about four cans of it, I love the fruity smell it has and the fact that it keeps volume in your hair as well as being quite flexible so it doesn’t leave your hair feeling hard or heavy.

And the final product I use on my hair is the L’Oreal Studio Matte & Messy salt spray I use this after curling my hair and I’ve only used it a couple of times but it’s a favourite when it comes to curling my hair.  Leaving it nice and messy for beach waves.

So this is everything I use to care for my hair and products I use on a weekly basis, what are some of your favourite products to use on your hair?

Fashion And Beauty Haul

Sunday 15 February 2015

So I haven’t done a haul in a while (well since my Christmas Haul) I’ve been out shopping quite a few times since this year started and spending my money/ gift cards I got for Christmas. I thought I’d put them to one side and when I finally had enough I’d do a post on it so here is some of the stuff I’ve bought.

So I’m going to start off with some of the stuff I’ve bought from Topshop since it is my favourite shop at the moment. The first thing I bought was this white knitted turtle neck jumper, this cost £50 but with my student discount I only paid £45 which I was so happy about! Also when I was trying this jumper on I picked up my size, which is a 12, and it was huge! I literally was drowning in the top, so I picked up the only other size in the shop, which was an 8, and it was the perfect size, which is quite odd so for this item it is quite weird.

The other item I picked up from Topshop is this pair of dark grey jeans, they are the Leigh ones and they’re skinny jeans and they have rips in both knees whilst the left knee also has another little ripped patch above the rip on the knee. These are £40 but with student discount they’re £36.

Moving on to Beauty I went into boots needing some new makeup and this is what I came out with. The first item I bought was the Borjois Magic Nail Polish Remover, This cost £5 and I’ve tried it out once and you literally put your finger in it, twist it a couple of times and it comes off, it’s so quick and easy to do and I think it’s way better than using cotton pads to remove nail polish. It also leaves your nails smelling really nice after; on the tub it says it’s a ‘Red berry and Vanilla’ scent.

Since I bought that and at the time there was a deal on Borjois items I ended up buying the Borjois bronzer, now I feel so late buying this after seeing loads of bloggers and YouTubers talking about this, but it is such a good bronzer, it also smells like coconut which is so nice. But it’s such a great bronzer to contour with. This was £7 from boots.

I also bought the Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner; I bought this mainly because I’m not that good at doing eyeliner so I’ve bought it mainly to practice with, this cost £7.99 from Boots.

Another item i bought was the simple kind to skin illuminating radience cream i love this moisturiser i put it on before i apply my make up and it adds like a natural highlight on the skin, like on the cheekbones and under the eyebrows. i got this on special but it costs £7.99.

The last make up item I bought from Boots was the Collection Long Lasting Concealer and again I feel so late to buy this because everyone raves on about it and it is definitely the best concealer I’ve used! This was £4.19 from Boots.

The Final thing I bought from boots was a Tangle Teaser this was £10.99.

I also popped into Lush the other day and ended up buying some of the new products in there. The first thing I picked up was an item from their valentines day range which is the Heart Throb Bubbleroon which I haven’t tried yet but it smells amazing and it turns your bath bright red and creates lots of bubbles.  This cost £3.56.

The next thing I picked up is Lush’s new Unicorn Horn, now the scent of this one didn’t really capture my attention it was more of the fact that it’s so colourful and glittery.  I’m quite excited to see how this makes my bath turn out and this was £3.25.

And the final thing I picked up was a charity pot, which was £1. I love these cause they are so easy to chuck in your bag and once they are finished you can keep the little tin and fill it with any hand lotion that you like and it just makes it easier to carry hand cream instead of a big tube. I own three of these now.

Another thing I have bought is from Newlook and I ordered this a couple of weeks ago and this is just a white three quarter sleeved top, which has two gold zips on either shoulder and this was £7.99.

And I also went into  Debenhams where I headed off to the beauty section and popped into Urban Decay and bought one of their revolution Lipsticks in the colour ‘catfight’ which is like a dark pink colour and this cost £15.50.

i also had a walk around to Asda today and they have a lot of specials on beauty and skincare and i ended up picking up a Garnier Moisture Match Moisturiseriser for normal skin and this was meant to be £5 well on the shelf it said £5 but when i got to the till the price came to £1 something.

And that is everything I have bought so far, I hope you guys enjoyed this post and I’ll post again next week.

Soap And Glory 'The Next Big Thing' Review

Sunday 8 February 2015

So for Christmas I got this Soap And Glory set called ‘The Next Big Thing’ Gift set. This set contained 10 different Soap And Glory items. Including Hand Dream Super cream, Orangeasm- body wash, Butter Yourself- moisture lotion, Heel Genius- foot cream, Sugar Crush- body scrub, Whipped Clean- shower butter, The Righteous Butter- body butter, Off Your Face- 3 in one daily purifying cloths, Sexy Mother Pucker- Lip Lacquer, and the Thick & Fast mascara. And I thought I’d do a review of this gift set.

So my first thoughts on the set was ‘wow’ it all came in this big box, that by the way was so cute and looking at the top with the cardboard information thing that said what was in it and had a picture of all the items on it, I was so surprised how much was actually in it and each thing in it is full sized.

The first thing I tried from the set was the Orangeasm- Body Wash. I’ve been dying to try this since the summer I think it might have been Tanya Burr who talked about it in her Video and it is amazing. I’m a big fan of the Soap and Glory body washes, because when you use them in the shower they don’t dry your skin out they keep the skin moisturised. This one in particular smells very fresh and zingy and as the name of the product it smells like oranges it’ll be perfect for the summer months.

The next thing I tried was the Hand Dream Super Cream hand cream, this has quickly became a favourite of mine if you read my blog post last week which was my January favourites, like I said in my favourites it smells amazing and it dries very quickly once it’s put on so it doesn’t leave your hands feeling sticky or greasy and that it hydrates your hands very quickly I love this moisturiser, I’m not one for using hand moisturisers but since I tried this one It has quickly started a routine which I use everyday.

The next product is the opposite of hands and is for the feet it’s their Heel Genius foot cream I’ve used this once a few weeks ago when I had gone back to college and my feet were really dry and It worked wonders, It did make them soft again and compared to the hands cream it did take longer to dry so it did leave my trying not to do anything that involved walking on my feet until It dried which did take a while so it is great if you get really dry feet.

The butter yourself moisturiser is like all their body moisturisers it’s pretty much the same as everyone it again dries quickly and this one is in a pump bottle and I’ll admit the first time I used it, It took me ages to try and get some of the lotion out since it’s quite a thick moisturiser but I did like this I don’t like it as much as the body butter I got for Christmas in 2013.

Another body lotion in the box was the Righteous butter, again it's the same as the other one i find that they all do the same thing, but i'm a big fan of body butters and the soap and glory ones are some of the best ones i've tried.

The off your face 3 in 1 facial cleansing wipes are pretty good too I tried these just to cleanse over my face when I didn’t quite get all my mascara off and I had some left under my eyes and the wipes smell so fresh and they’re really smooth over the face and leave your skin feeling very fresh and clean. I haven’t tried them to take make up off yet since I use my lush ultra blend cleanser to do that but I think if you are going to take your make up off with wipes the Simple ones would be better.

With soap and Glory I have never tried any of their make up products and with this set I got the Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Gloss in the colour Charm Offensive and I have literally fell in love with this product! It has to be my favourite thing I’ve tried from soap and glory. I think I love the colour more than anything but it’s such a nice colour it’s a pinkish nude and I just love it, it’s pigmented, it lasts a long time and it’s not sticky it’s just a really nice product in general, I think I might end up buying the lipstick version of this next!

Another make up item that is in this set is the Thick & Fast Mascara and I do use this a lot I find that it’s the only mascara I use that after a long day doesn’t come off or melt off and get under my eyes, it’s a bit too liquidly so when I’m applying it, it can go either under the eyes or on the eye lids. But I do love the look it gives just makes them look longer and makes them looked fuller.

This product I’ve only tried once and it’s the Whipped Clean shower butter and oh my god this smells amazing I’d describe it as an almond like scent but it also has Shea butter in it as well as a almond and vanilla scent and it’s quite a strong scent and after about half an hour after my shower I walked into the sitting room and both of my parents could smell it and even the next day I could still smell it.

The final product in the box is another product I have only used once is the Sugar Crush body scrub and this is a lime like scent and I’ve never used a body scrub before and I found it slightly weird the texture of it was very odd but it left my skin feeling amazingly soft, I’m not that keen on the scent as it’s a very strong one but It is really good for dry skin.

So this was my review on the Soap And Glory The Next Big Thing box set, have any of you tried this box set and what are your thoughts on the items inside?
