August Favourites

Saturday 29 August 2015

I can’t believe how fast this year is going, I can’t believe the summer is over already, I’ve been out of college since the beginning of June and I can’t believe how quick these three months have gone. Anyways here are my favourites from this month.

My first favourite of the month has to be the Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub. I’ve been using this after each time I shave my legs and after using It in the shower I will moisturise and I can honestly say my skin has never felt softer than it does after I’ve used this. It’s a very fresh and limey smell, but it’s my favourite thing to use in the shower at the moment.

My second favourite is the Zoella Lets Spritz Body Mist this mist is such a nice light spray, it’s got quite a subtle scent that isn’t over powering. It’s very sweet and fruity. I’m really bad at describing scents but it does smell amazing and the packaging is so cute and for only £7 I love this product.

My third favourite of the month has to be this app for the iPhone called Pump Up which is a work out app that is one side a social media app so you can get inspiration and share your progress and then there’s the workout side to the app where you can choose which level of exercise you want to do and which area you want to focus on and for however long you want to. I’ve just started using this app this month and I already love it a lot I find it really good to use especially since I can’t get to a gym so It gives me different workouts to do at home without any equipment.

Another favourite of mine has been the book Paper Towns by John Green. I’m not a massive reader but I love John Green’s book and I decided I really want to read Paper Towns before I see the film and I’ve only just started it but it’s definitely a really good book that I would recommend.

My final favourites of the month are two Real Techniques brushes, which I got in the Collectors Edition Sculpting set, which was an exclusive set that isn’t actually on the real techniques website anymore but I think you may still be able to get them from Superdrug as they’re still on their website. The two brushes that I have loved from this set are the Sculpting Brush and the Setting brush.

The setting brush is a very small round brush that I use for powder and I use a lot more for powder instead of the actual Real Techniques Powder brush that I own. I use a very small amount of powder and this brush is perfect for the areas where I use powder such as under my eyes, my forehead, on my chin and down my T-zone. And I love the sculpting brush for bronzer. This brush is an angled brush that is great for applying bronzer to contour with.

So these are my favourites for this month, what are some of your favourite things from August?

Lush Shampoo Bar And Conditioner Review

Saturday 22 August 2015

So recently for the first time I bought the Lush New Shampoo bar and American Cream Conditioner, I’ve never tried Lush’s hair care before, but after seeing so many positive reviews about the shampoo bars I decided I’d give them a go.

The Lush New Shampoo Bar is heavily scented with Cinnamon and the website describes it as a solid bar with cinnamon, clove and peppermint, this is meant to stimulate your scalp. The cinnamon leaf, bay and cloth bud oil’s combine with peppermint this is meant to boost the blood flow, which stimulates the hair follicles. This all is meant to help with making your hair healthier and the rosemary helps sooth’s the scalp whilst adding shine to your hair.

I have used this shampoo bar quite a few times and I love it a lot. To use the shampoo bar you can either wet the bar or rub it directly on the scalp or you can wet the bar and rub it in your hands. I choose to just rub the bar directly onto the scalp as I find afterwards it helps give my hair more volume and has helped my hair grow longer quicker.  I love this bar because I find it smells incredible, it cleans my hair really well especially when I’ve had hair spray in (I use the Fudge Urban one and sometimes one wash with other shampoos isn’t enough to get it out and sometimes there’s some product left in.) it leaves my hair feeling really nice and light whilst having a really nice shine.

Along with this shampoo bar I use the American Cream Conditioner, which smells incredible as well like a strawberry milkshake. I bought this after talking to one of the workers and she recommended this as it’s a double strengthen conditioner which doesn’t way your hair down It’s a very light conditioner. I got this one as well because of the fact I use a lot of heat on my hair because I straighten my hair almost every day and this is obviously damaging, so I wanted something that would keep my hair hydrated. I wasn’t disappointed. This product smells amazing and it moistures your hair really well, I don’t find myself using that much product and it is one of the lightest conditioners I’ve used and I think this may be a product I will repurchase again in the future.

Lush New Shampoo Bar- £5.75
Lush American Cream Conditioner:
100g- £4.50
250g- £8.95
500g- £14.25

Have any of you tried the Lush Shampoo Bars? What are your thoughts on them?

My Top 5 Summer Lipsticks

Saturday 1 August 2015

As it is summer, I love to change my lipsticks up as I’m a massive fan of berry lips during the autumn and winter and when it comes to spring and summer I like to change it up and go for brighter and bolder colours so here are my top five favourite lipsticks to wear during the summer.

My first favourite to wear is the Mac Cremesheen lipstick in Lickable I wear this with the Mac Pro Longwear Lip Pencil in Trust In Red. I either use the pencil all over my lips before applying the Cremesheen to make it last longer or I just apply the lip pencil as usual, but this is a great lipstick that will last for hours and keeps your lips hydrated since it’s a Cremesheen.

Another favourite is another Mac product, which is a matt lipstick called Lady Danger, this is just a really nice orange toned red that I love, I use this with the Mac Lip Pencil Cherry. And again with this mac lipstick it will last for a good few hours and when it fades it doesn’t become patchy. I love this lipstick and it’s been a summer favourite of mine for two years now.

My third favourite lipstick for the summer is the new Revlon HD Lipsticks, these have been my most worn lipsticks during the summer so far and my favourite has to be the 875 Gladiolus, which is a pinkish red colour, these lipsticks are simply stunning and they colour is so bold and they stand out so well.

My fourth favourite is a Revlon Colour Burst Lip Gloss in the colour 006 Strawberry Fraise. This has been a favourite for ages now it’s a light pink lipgloss that I absolutely love its very pigmented and it isn’t sticky at all it doesn’t last very long but its such a nice light colour for the days where I’d rather not be wearing anything bright or bold.

And my final favourite lipstick is the Rimmel London Kate Moss Matte Lipstick in the shade 16 I’ve had this lipstick for three years now and it’s been my go to lipstick for spring/ summer when I’m wanting some colour on my lips but nothing that’s really bright and bold and this one is just a nice subtle colour that is gorgeous.

So these were my top five lipsticks that I love to wear during the summer. What are some of your favourite lipsticks to wear during the summer?
