May Favourites

Saturday, 31 May 2014

So it’s the end of May and that means one thing and one thing only, may favourites. I’ve had such a busy month with exams starting and almost finishing (5 exams left, about 2 weeks) and I got to go to my first concert (McBusted) and just generally been a hard, stressful month, but after all that I can still say this month has been quite good and I have found some new Favourite so enough rambling and I’ll get straight on with it.

My first favourite of the month is a hair care product. The Herbal Essence smooth and soft shampoo and conditioner. I have been having such problems with my hair lately and I don’t know what causes it but every time I wash my hair with the shampoos and conditioners my hair is always left greasy. I do often change up what I use and mix it up but this shampoo leaves my hair feeling soft and smooth and also leaves it very manageable and to top it off it smells amazing.

(sorry about the colour and flash i couldn't get a good photo of the foundation that shows the proper colour it's actually much lighter than this)

My next favourite is the Revlon Nearly naked Foundation in the colour 120 shell. I’ve been using this product for over a year now and I love it. It’s not the cheapest of foundations but it’s not the most expensive it’s price is £8 and it’s a nice light foundation. It has a great amount of coverage and lasts for a very long time. I usually do my make up at about 7am for school and by half three my makeup is still completely fine. Plus these foundations last me for about 4-5 months maybe longer. I love this foundation but I defiantly want to switch things up and I’m defiantly considering buying a new foundation. Especially after hearing the good things about the Rimmel wake me up foundation.

My next favourite isn’t a beauty favourite but a music favourite, I love my music and it’s always what I do, I watch the music channels on TV all day if I’m not going out, if I’m on my way to school, when I’m revising, everywhere. I always have to have a set of headphones with me and when I discovered this band I fell in love. They’re one of the three support groups that opened for McBusted and they’re called E of E I love these guys they’re a great band very lively on stage and great singers.

Staying on the subject of music my other music favourite is Hollywood Ending one of the other bands supporting Mcbusted since the concert I have had their music on replay from spotify I love their music. I love it when you discover a new song, which leads to liking a new artist, and you gain a sense of joy and excitement because it’s new and unfamiliar.

My final favourite is going to be the top shop nail polish in the colour Flamingo Corel, I love this nail polish it’s such a spring/ summer colour which I have wore for the majority of May ( I unfortunately picked all of it off after finishing exams early and had time to waste). I love the Top Shop nail polishes they last so long and need only two coats. They last for so long and they’re a reasonable price.

So these were my favourite of May, If you’d like to share what some of your favourites were for May leave a comment below and I’ll reply as soon as I can,

L’Oreal Milcellar Water Review

Saturday, 24 May 2014

Ok so to start with I know a lot of people on this site have done reviews on this product, but I’m busy in between revising and exams and a bunch of school stuff and this is honestly the easiest post I could write and I would like to say that I bought this with my own money and everything I write is my honest opinion.

So the Milcellar water is a make up remover, you put it on a cotton pad and rub on your face or hold over the eyelid before rubbing gently to remove any eye make up. I have had this product for around 2 months now after seeing a youtuber  (Floral Scene) use it in one of her videos and I got curious and it was on special in boots so I thought why not try it.

This product is now my favourite make up remover. I use it on a daily basis and for having it for almost two month i use it almost everyday (apart from when I’ve been really lazy) and I have a lot left. When using it I go through 3 cotton pads and that removes foundation, powder, mascara and concealer. I only really need two but the third one is used for any left over.

This product is very gentle on the skin and removes make up instantly. I have spot prone skin and since using this my face has been much more cleaner as instead of using a regular make up wipe it cleanses deeper and gets rid of all traces of makeup. The Milcellar water also tightens and tones the skin and even leaves the skin feeling refreshed and clean. It also is effortless to use.

The only fault I have with it is with the bottle, when I pour the water on the cotton pad I often tip it a little too much and it ends up putting too much liquid on the pad, but apart from that I love this product it’s simply a great cleanser and easy to use, whilst the bottle is very basic but stylish.

The Millcellar Water is £4.99 from Superdrugs or £3.33 from Boots as you save £1.66 and i'm pretty sure you can get it from a few different places. So this was my Review have you used this product? what was your opinion on it?

McBusted!!

Thursday, 22 May 2014

So last night I went to see the one and only McBusted at Metro Arena in Newcastle. I can’t even describe how good it was it was just amazing! Since I was younger about 5 years old I used to love Busted and I grew up listening to Mcfly too so getting to see them live was a childhood dream come true and to add to this it was my first ever concert. It couldn’t have been any better than that.

I was in block 101 sitting, which was so close to the stage, but it was the perfect distance from being between the two stages, it was amazing I went with my best friend Lisa who also has a photography blog. (lfotography.blogspot.co.uk/?m=1) we both went up after school on Wednesday and we headed off to Burger king before heading into the arena.

When we arrived we were too early so we waited around for a long time but just before the concert actually started this young boy got up and started break dancing and he gained a little crowed and people were videoing and taking photos it was cool, but that kid had such courage to get up and dance in front of like what 100+ people.

Harry came on stage shirtless! And when he went off stage at the very end he mooned the cowed, James put a bra on his head, they were talking about boners it was pretty random and they got the crowd to do the bounce where James went ahead and told the crowd that it was Harry’s way of getting us to jiggle our boobs they then went ahead and started saying things like boobcastle instead of Newcastle, then one of them I can’t remember which one but one of them did a slug? As he called it, it was a really funny night and I had so much fun I loved the vibe I loved singing and dancing to the songs it was amazing.

Even the support groups were amazing and the stage was amazing they were all hilarious and the crowd was amazing and I had such a great night, it was so  great to have a break between revising and exams and yesterday during the day I was having a bad day I was jittery and anxious but once I got to the concert I forgot everything it was just so amazing.

I have got photos but they were took on my phone so I apologise for he bad quality but enjoy!

i'm on the right  and my friend Lisa is the one on the left

British Weather Hot and sunny?

Saturday, 17 May 2014

so it's that time of year in Britain where the weather is quite unpredictable one day it is sunny and hot the next it's raining and cold but it's halfway through May and today the weather is stunning, it's very sunny and it's hot enough to wear a vest top and a shorts which is rare especially since i' live  in the North East of the country and on the coast so it's even harder for the weather to be this nice.

But today it's an exception and i thought i'd sit out in the garden even though i am meant to be revising as it's now exam season and i have 10 exams left( approximately 3 weeks left) but i thought since the weather is really nice out i would go out and make most of this weather whilst it lasts but let's just hope i don't burn (most likely i will) but  i thought i'd take my camera out and take a few photos of my garden and i edited them, so i thought i would share them on here so enjoy!

sorry this blog post wasn't very interesting i've been busy revising for my exams, and when i haven't been revising i've been relaxing so i did this easy/ simple post just to upload but i'll be uploading every saturday still.

April Favourites

Saturday, 10 May 2014

So it’s once again the end of April and it’s the beginning of may and I can say this month has just came and gone, I feel like I've done so much in so little time and now It’s may and my exams start in about one or two weeks, I'm terrified as I still haven't started any revision yet, but anyway here are some of my beauty and fashion favourites from April.

This is an overview of all of my beauty favourites of the month.

So to start with I got the Maybelline Falsies, I watch a lot of Youtubers on YouTube especially fashion and beauty youtubers, including both Tanya Burr and Zoella and every time I always hear about the Maybelline Falsies. I've been dying to try this but I've always put it off getting it, but I finally got it at the beginning of April and I have loved it since. It gives the lashes a dramatic but natural look.

My next favourite is from Lush, this month especially I have fell in love with Lush and their products but I have especially loved the Bunch of Carrots which I got for Easter. I've had the for the entire month and I still haven't gone through one carrot, so they last a long time and they smell amazing and of course even though it’s a bubble wand it still leaves your skin refreshed and soft.

this favourite I have had for months but have mainly been using over the last two weeks since I went back to school last week, my lips have been getting dry from talking a lot and generally just from being in school all day, so I’ve been using the Maybelline Baby Lips hydrate and I even put this on as a layer then apply my Mac Dazzle Glass Lip Gloss on top, This lip gloss is pretty good it doesn't last the full eight hours it should but it still lasts a long time.

So that was my beauty favourites so here are some of my fashion favourites for the month. To start with I'll start with my favourite footwear of the month which it my Grey Ankle Boots from River Island. This boots I've had for three years now and they're kind of a re-discovery and I wear them with everything, I think they just fit and they're extremely comfortable to wear.

This favourite I included in one of my blog posts a few weeks ago and it’s this Half black half Grey top from Newlook, this top I’ve fell in love with I know it’s spring and I should be wearing pastels and lighter colours but this top it’s really light and quite thin so it’s nice for the hotter days but I really can't wait to wear it when I go to college.

My final favourite is my new jeans from Urban Outfitters they're called Black cigarette cuffed jeans and I got them in their sale for £20 they were originally £45 and I love them, I find it hard to find a pair of jeans that fit perfectly around both the waist and the legs but these jeans I found they are a perfect fit and for being skinny jeans they are incredibly soft and comfortable and since they're plain back they're suitable for both going out during the day or going out for a meal.

(not my photo i couldn't get a good photo of them)

i have one last favourite but it’s not a beauty or a fashion favourites it’s a film, I went to see this during my Easter holidays and I can say that it was brilliant film there wasn't a single boring moment. It’s Divergent, I'm in love with it and it’s made me think a lot about fear since I saw it. I know, I know it’s stupid but i got my inspiration for my last post from the film. But if you haven't seen this film I recommend that you do. I'm not going to spoil anything but I wrote a blog post about the film, which I'll link below.

So these were my favourites of April favourites, let me know below in the comments what your favourites of the month were and I'll update next Saturday
