A Few Of My Favourite Films

Sunday, 13 September 2015

So after running out of inspiration on what type of post I should post this week I thought I’d share a few of my favourite movies that I absolutely love and could watch over and over again so here are 5 of my favourite movies to watch.

1. One of my all time favourite movies to watch is Grease. I’ve loved this film since I was six. It’s been a favourite that I have watched many times over the years and it’s a movie that I will continue to watch and love in the futures.

2. My second favourite is quite a recent movie and that is The Maze runner. When I first found out that Dylan O’Brien was cast as the lead role in this movie I was so excited to see this film. Dylan O’Brien is one of my favourite actors and after I saw the trailer I new this would be a favourite of mine, and since the movie came out I have loved this movie and I’m very excited to see the sequel to this The Scorch Trials.

3. Another favourite is Pitch Perfect, this film is very funny and I love the cast to the movie. I enjoyed the first Pitch Perfect compared to the second one considering the fact that the first movie to me had a better plot and it was much more interesting, but some of the songs on the second movie were definitely better.

4. The Hunger Games Series. I don’t even know where to start with these movies. I love every single movie in The Hunger Games Series. I remember when the first movie came out in cinemas and I knew nothing about the film I hadn’t even heard of it and then I remember seeing it in cinemas and it blew my mind. I saw the second one in cinemas too and again the film didn’t disappoint me. This series is one of my favourites that I love to watch and could watch over and over again because of how well made they are and the plot is so good.

5. I think my final favourite movie has to be the Harry Potter Series. I’m currently re watching all of the Harry Potter’s and I forgot how much I love the movies. I actually remember my grandma owning the first two films on Video (VHS.) I own all the Harry Potter Films on Blue Ray and every year I end up watching at least one of the films. I grew up along with the Movies and Books and its just a movie that I love I remember the excitement of getting them on DVD each year as they came out or even going in the cinemas to see them.

So these are a few of my favourite movies, what are some of yours?

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer Review

Sunday, 6 September 2015

So recently I’ve been trying out the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer, I bought this a couple of months ago when I was trying to find my usual concealer the Collection Long Lasting Perfection concealer. Unfortunately for a while I couldn’t find this concealer in fair so I decided to just buy another one and I had heard a lot of good things about the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer so I bought it and after using it a number of times I’ve finally have an opinion on it.

So first of all the product description on the Boots website claims that…
-It’s a full coverage concealer
-it visibly reawakens and illuminates
-Completely conceals spots & blemishes
-And has an anti-fatigue effect

After using this many times I will say that I find the concealer definitely does reawakens the skin and illuminates the skin under the eyes. I’ve used this on days where I’ve had a bad nights sleep and have been feeling/ looked really tired and I can say it definitely does make you look refreshed and not at all tired, but I do have a slight problem with the concealer. I have quite dark bags under my eyes and compared to my collection concealer this one doesn’t cover the bags up very easily. I find myself having to put layers of the concealer on to cover them up, whilst my collection one covers the bags up with just one layer.

I also find this concealer harder to blend into my skin. But some more positives of this concealer include how long lasting it is and how well it stays on with a little bit of powder on top.  Usually when I’m going out I am out all day and recently it has been very hot outside. This concealer definitely has lasted the entire day even whilst being in quite hot conditions of course I have put some powder on top, which I have found doesn’t actually effect the illuminating effect of the concealer as long as it’s just a slight amount of translucent powder it will still keep the illuminating effect, whilst just slightly matting the concealer.

Overall I do really like this concealer despite the fact that it requires more product being used to cover up my under eye bags, but I do love the effect it has. Unfortunately though this concealer will never be my favourite as long as I have the Collection Long Lasting Perfection Concealer, but it’s definitely a close second.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer - £ 5.49 from Boots/ Superdrug

Have any of you used this product if so what do you think of it?

August Favourites

Saturday, 29 August 2015

I can’t believe how fast this year is going, I can’t believe the summer is over already, I’ve been out of college since the beginning of June and I can’t believe how quick these three months have gone. Anyways here are my favourites from this month.

My first favourite of the month has to be the Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub. I’ve been using this after each time I shave my legs and after using It in the shower I will moisturise and I can honestly say my skin has never felt softer than it does after I’ve used this. It’s a very fresh and limey smell, but it’s my favourite thing to use in the shower at the moment.

My second favourite is the Zoella Lets Spritz Body Mist this mist is such a nice light spray, it’s got quite a subtle scent that isn’t over powering. It’s very sweet and fruity. I’m really bad at describing scents but it does smell amazing and the packaging is so cute and for only £7 I love this product.

My third favourite of the month has to be this app for the iPhone called Pump Up which is a work out app that is one side a social media app so you can get inspiration and share your progress and then there’s the workout side to the app where you can choose which level of exercise you want to do and which area you want to focus on and for however long you want to. I’ve just started using this app this month and I already love it a lot I find it really good to use especially since I can’t get to a gym so It gives me different workouts to do at home without any equipment.

Another favourite of mine has been the book Paper Towns by John Green. I’m not a massive reader but I love John Green’s book and I decided I really want to read Paper Towns before I see the film and I’ve only just started it but it’s definitely a really good book that I would recommend.

My final favourites of the month are two Real Techniques brushes, which I got in the Collectors Edition Sculpting set, which was an exclusive set that isn’t actually on the real techniques website anymore but I think you may still be able to get them from Superdrug as they’re still on their website. The two brushes that I have loved from this set are the Sculpting Brush and the Setting brush.

The setting brush is a very small round brush that I use for powder and I use a lot more for powder instead of the actual Real Techniques Powder brush that I own. I use a very small amount of powder and this brush is perfect for the areas where I use powder such as under my eyes, my forehead, on my chin and down my T-zone. And I love the sculpting brush for bronzer. This brush is an angled brush that is great for applying bronzer to contour with.

So these are my favourites for this month, what are some of your favourite things from August?

Lush Shampoo Bar And Conditioner Review

Saturday, 22 August 2015

So recently for the first time I bought the Lush New Shampoo bar and American Cream Conditioner, I’ve never tried Lush’s hair care before, but after seeing so many positive reviews about the shampoo bars I decided I’d give them a go.

The Lush New Shampoo Bar is heavily scented with Cinnamon and the website describes it as a solid bar with cinnamon, clove and peppermint, this is meant to stimulate your scalp. The cinnamon leaf, bay and cloth bud oil’s combine with peppermint this is meant to boost the blood flow, which stimulates the hair follicles. This all is meant to help with making your hair healthier and the rosemary helps sooth’s the scalp whilst adding shine to your hair.

I have used this shampoo bar quite a few times and I love it a lot. To use the shampoo bar you can either wet the bar or rub it directly on the scalp or you can wet the bar and rub it in your hands. I choose to just rub the bar directly onto the scalp as I find afterwards it helps give my hair more volume and has helped my hair grow longer quicker.  I love this bar because I find it smells incredible, it cleans my hair really well especially when I’ve had hair spray in (I use the Fudge Urban one and sometimes one wash with other shampoos isn’t enough to get it out and sometimes there’s some product left in.) it leaves my hair feeling really nice and light whilst having a really nice shine.

Along with this shampoo bar I use the American Cream Conditioner, which smells incredible as well like a strawberry milkshake. I bought this after talking to one of the workers and she recommended this as it’s a double strengthen conditioner which doesn’t way your hair down It’s a very light conditioner. I got this one as well because of the fact I use a lot of heat on my hair because I straighten my hair almost every day and this is obviously damaging, so I wanted something that would keep my hair hydrated. I wasn’t disappointed. This product smells amazing and it moistures your hair really well, I don’t find myself using that much product and it is one of the lightest conditioners I’ve used and I think this may be a product I will repurchase again in the future.

Lush New Shampoo Bar- £5.75
Lush American Cream Conditioner:
100g- £4.50
250g- £8.95
500g- £14.25

Have any of you tried the Lush Shampoo Bars? What are your thoughts on them?
